Tanning

Today after school I went to Chipotle since my friends are semi-obsessed. I saw Boca Tanning Club and noticed all the advertisements for the FREE first tan, which is something most tanning salons tend to do. I have only been in a tanning bed once and it was because I was being an idiot and wanted to be tan, but turned out being burnt and never did it again. Those tanning beds are sooooo bad for you that I find it ridiculous that so many people do it. A free tan is like free cancer! Only 15 minutes in a tanning bed, laying down, is equal to being in the sun for 6 hours. The stand up ones are a little more intense which is worse for you. I see so many people getting these fake tans to look pretty, because I do believe someone looks prettier when they are tan. However, cancer is not worth it! I feel like today people go to such extremes risking their health and even lives to fit social norms. My best friend used to go to those all the time and she had to get a pre cancerous mole spot removed from her back about a month ago. That is totally preventable, go in the sun for 1 or 2 hours and you'll be just as tan minus the cancer.
