I bring a water bottle to school everyday and today I noticed the bottle looked different so I read the new content on it and learned a very interesting fact. Seventy five percent of our brains are made up of water. I found this to be shocking and decided to look up some interesting facts about water and found plenty. Here are some:
Cool Facts
- 70% of an adult's body weight is water; at birth is accounts for 80% of body weight.
- A healthy person can drink about 3 gallons of water or 48 cups per day.
-Somewhat from 70 to 75% of Earth's surface is made of water.
-The water on Earth today is the same water that the dinosaurs drank in prehistoric times.
-There are about 326 cubic miles of water on Earth
-The average American uses anywhere from 80 to 100 gallons of water per day, flushing the toilet uses the most amount of water.
-By the time a person feels thirsty they have already lost 1 percent of the total amount of water in their bodies.
-The weight a person loses directly after playing a sport or working out is water weight, not fat.
Why drink water?
- A person cannot survive a week without water.
-Water maintains your weight by regulating appetite and increasing metabolism.
-It can reduce risks for some cancers such as colon cancer and breast cancer.
-It is the primary source of transportation for all nutrients!
Is bottle water better?
No! About 25% of most bottled water is purely just tap water put in bottles and the average American is spending roughly 7 billion dollars a year on bottled water. There is nothing that proves bottled water to be better than tap water nor healthier. Also, it does not prove to taste better. This luxury which in fact is nothing but having someone put tap water into the bottle for us is harming the environment as we are using 1.5 million tons of plastic every year. An awesome alternative to go green is recycle your water bottles! Use one and keep filling the same one up, it really is no different than opening a new one!

I love water! I feel its the best drink to quench your thirst. I tend to drink 4 glasses of water a day I must admit I'm addicted. This post was so interesting because although I do drink water I did not know all these excellent facts you have provided us with. Maybe know I'll drink even more.
Water is so essential. What would we do without it? I mean, we'd probably some other type of creature that can survive without water, or just not exist at all, but it's just so awesome we get to have 70% of our planet covered with it. I personally love water, I don't care if it's tap water or bottled water. And I agree with Maria, it's pretty cool to know all of these things about it. Thanks!
I should really drink more water!! I barely drink like 1 gallon a week. I know thats horible, but I just dont like how it tastes. I rather drink juice or anything else. But i have been doing so much better I try to drink about 3 glasses of water a day, it really is a big change. I feel healthier and lighter. Its really cool!
