Helper's high

While reading my RSS feed, I came across an article titled " 10 fresh ways to boost your energy." I clicked on it because I know as high school students we are all constantly tired, so I thought maybe this article would be beneficial. I found the most interesting thing out. A person can actually feel energized while lending a helping hand or volunteering, this happens because you get a "helper's high," which is a rush of endorphins. The author of "Positive Energy: 10 extraordinary prescriptions for transforming fatigue, stress, and fear," agrees and she often does little good deeds like buying an extra cup of coffee for a homeless person. She says "when you make someone happy, you feel filled up again." I thought about it and it is true. I am always involved with a foundation called TOUCH A HEART founded by my friend's mom and I go often to his house to help out, and even if I was falling asleep during school, once I get there I don't feel tired at all. It might be a coincidence but I found it interesting. We should all help out the less fortunate. It doesn't only benefit them, it will give you a good feeling inside as well as boosting your energy! How cool is that?
