Are you really "lovin' it?"

Everyday we hear about how obesity in America is becoming more of a problem, but yet we have fast food restaurants every other block. McDonalds now has something like 49 cent cheeseburgers on certain days. I find it ridiculous that they do this as it contributes to not only obesity but future health problems in these consumers. These half a dollar burgers are filled with grease and put a whooping 250 pounds on your body (80 from fat) and that's WITHOUT the cheese! To add a little slice of cheese might only cost you a couple cents more but it adds 30 fat calories to your body! The calories, however, are the least serious part, how about risking heart disease and clogged arteries, now thats serious. Whats the truth behind McDonalds? Read this before going back to Mickey D's!

It is a shame that McDonalds chooses to make unhealthy foods, but it is not up to them if you are going to be a healthy person or not. If you constantly eat fast food and become unhealthy because of it, it is not the restaurant's fault, it is your fault for not staying away from them.

I agree with you wholeheartedly! Although I am guilty of eating fast food about once a month, I try to choose the more healthy alternatives - Panera, or Moe's. I cannot fathom why so many people continue to eat McDonalds or Burger King after reading about the amount of calories and fat that is in the food.
Check out a book called "The Fast Food Nation." After reading it, I could not enter a fast food restaurant for months!

It is getting to be a little ridiculous the amount of chemicals and calories that they are putting in these foods. If you ever see the movie "Super Size It" I guarantee that you will never want to eat in McDonalds again. The movie shows the affects of eating McDonalds everyday, the contents inside the food, and the health problems that you begin to have.

It is irresponsable of the restaurants to sell good food that later turns out to be REALLY HARMFULL, but it is more irresponsible of the people who consume and give money to these kind of restaurants, and not only to the restaurants but to give this poison to their own children. The restaurant has some fault in this but they do not MAKE you buy their food.
It is totally ironic how one burger that only costs 49 cents may later cost your life.

I think it's a real shame, but at the same extremely ridiculous that knowing this food is horrible to anyone's health, people still continue to eat it. I, too, can say am guilty of contributing to this, and not just McDonald's at times but rather BK or Taco Bell. I guess sometimes we're in such a hurry to get somewhere or to do something, that we only care about eating a quick, tasty meal that will quench our appetite. Yes, there is some to blame these huge companies for selling this kind of food despite its harmful properties to us, but we are all even more guilty for simply submitting to it and eating it.
